Bio
I have my PhD in Chemistry, and my level 3 educators license. I have taught AP Chemistry for over ten years, and my AP scores in 2020 were twice the national average. Along the way, I have also taught Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Applied Chemistry and Biology, Physics, Astronomy and Oceanography. I was formally the Department Chair for science at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, but COVID has forced me to make some changes. Tutoring allows me to continue my passion for teaching.
I love teaching. I came to teaching from an academic background, and I have been teaching science at the high school level for over ten years. I appreciate how challenging science can be. As an educator, I appreciate that understanding is a process. My mission statement reads as follows: To teach science through a lens that encourages critical thinking, fosters resilience, and creates a desire to understand bold new ideas.
