Bio: I am a retiree with a Master's in Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Applied Physics, and have worked as a Research Physicist, Adjunct Professor of Physics, and software developer, and employed math in each job. I started tutoring informally in high school and in college. Many students sought out my services and considered me their favored tutor. I was a Teaching Assistant for a calculus-based physics course in college and for three physics courses in graduate school. I have always loved mathematics, continued to learn new methods and applications, and like to pass that interest onto others. It is rewarding to help a student tackle problems step by step, use different approaches, verify solutions, and grow their skills and confidence. I explain the concepts clearly, encourage and guide students through their difficult points, and advise on ways to study and prepare for exams.
